Our first grant submission!

Today we submitted for our first grant opportunity!! The Dollar General Literacy Foundation is offering $4,000 Youth Literacy Grants to programs that are:

• Implementing new or expanding existing literacy programs
• Purchasing new technology or equipment to support literacy initiatives
• Purchasing books, materials or software for literacy programs

This money would enable First Book-Denver Metro to grant local organizations 1,600 brand new books to distribute to economically disadvantaged children enrolled in their programs. As each child receives 6 books over the course of several months, this would help approximately 266 children.

We are so excited and grateful for this opportunity! The recipients will be announced in August, so we'll keep you posted.
